Carlos is a Ph.D. student in the Ecology program and his main scientific interests are focused on the recent link established between macroecology and disease ecology. Kane is a PhD student interested in synthesizing empirical and theoretical approaches to understand the ecology of emerging infectious diseases at different scales. Their work specifically seeks to understand the threats to animal, human, and ecosystem health posed by emerging fungal pathogens. They are currently investigating the links between thermal tolerance, host-parasite interactions, climate change, and fungal disease emergence from a macroecological perspective.
